About 1 hour 15 minutes from our Northfield base via the M5 — one of the closer towns on our southern run
Home sunbed hire for Gloucester residents
Gloucester is barely over an hour down the M5 from Northfield, which makes it one of the easier additions to our southern delivery route alongside Cheltenham and Worcester. We cover the city centre and cathedral quarter, Kingsholm, Longlevens, Barnwood, Hucclecote, Abbeydale, Coney Hill, Matson, Tuffley, Podsmead, Quedgeley, Kingsway, Elmbridge, Longford, Churchdown, Brockworth and Hardwicke. The housing here is mostly post-war semis and newer estate developments with driveways and usable spare rooms, so installations are usually quick and either bed type fits without issue — Kingsway and Quedgeley in particular have plenty of modern family homes with the space for a lie-down. Closer to the centre around Kingsholm and Barnwood the terraces are more compact, and that's where the stand-up Caribbean tends to make more sense. A good chunk of our Gloucester bookings are holiday prep timed around half-term or summer breaks, and we see a steady run of 12-week winter hires from customers who'd rather tan at home than commute into the centre for a salon course, especially with docks-area parking often at a premium.
Delivery & installation across Gloucester
Delivery, installation and collection are arranged with you when you book — this is one of our wider-area towns, so a delivery charge applies and we confirm it before you pay. We text a 2-hour arrival window the day before, install the bed in the room of your choice, plug it into a standard 13-amp socket, test it and talk you through safe session times for your skin type before handing over your UV goggles. Collection at the end of the hire is included and we handle all the lifting. Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Stroud and Worcester are all on the same run at the same price, and most Gloucester bookings go out within a week of the deposit.

Gloucester sunbed hire FAQs
How much does sunbed hire cost in Gloucester?
£260 for 6 weeks, £330 for 8 weeks and £475 for 12 weeks — the same price for stand-up or lie-down, plus a delivery charge confirmed on WhatsApp. A £10 deposit holds your dates.
Why is the minimum hire 6 weeks?
Gloucester sits outside our core West Midlands zone, so it runs on our standard 6-week minimum for the wider delivery area. Weekly pricing is the same as our shorter-minimum towns.
Which Gloucester areas do you cover?
All of GL1 to GL4 — the city centre, Kingsholm, Longlevens, Barnwood, Hucclecote, Abbeydale, Matson, Tuffley, Quedgeley, Kingsway, Churchdown and Brockworth.
Do you also cover Cheltenham, Stroud and Tewkesbury?
Yes — all three are on the same delivery run as Gloucester at the same price and the same 6-week minimum hire.
How much space does a sunbed need?
A stand-up needs about 4ft x 4ft of floor and 6ft 6in of head-height, suiting the more compact terraces near the centre. A lie-down needs roughly 7ft x 4ft and fits comfortably in the larger homes around Quedgeley and Kingsway.
Do I need an electrician to fit it?
No — both bed types run from a standard 13-amp socket. We install and test it on delivery, no extra wiring needed.
Stand-up or lie-down — which is more popular in Gloucester?
Around 8 in 10 customers choose the stand-up Caribbean for its shorter sessions and smaller footprint, though lie-downs are common in the bigger estate homes further out. Both cost the same.
What does it cost to run?
A stand-up uses roughly 5–6kW while it's on, so a 9-minute session costs around 25–35p at typical UK electricity rates — far cheaper than repeated salon visits plus fuel.
How soon can you deliver?
Gloucester is only around 75 minutes from us, so we can often deliver within a few days if your dates are flexible, and most bookings go out inside a week.
Can I extend beyond my original hire?
Yes — message us before your collection date and we'll extend at the standard weekly rate with the bed staying exactly where it is.
Do I need to clean the sunbed before collection?
Just a quick wipe-down with the cleaner we supply. The full disinfection and PAT test happen back at our Northfield unit.
How does payment work?
£10 deposit online or by phone secures your dates, then the balance and delivery charge are paid on delivery day by cash or bank transfer — no credit checks or contracts.
